Students are the least informed—how can they market their services?
They do conflict resolution. Do work with students that may be employed off-campus, or live off-campus, maybe facing action. Provide legal information and advice. Try to help before it reaches the legal stage.
Any advice on how to reach out to students?
Use funny slogans
Example: Got a PAULA? Need some advice?
Put a flyer in all the rooms at move-in
Come visit! They have free pencils
Bulletin board materials to give tips to people
Magnets on people’s doors
Bring back to your hall association—let people know!
It doesn’t have to be a big deal to come see them. The earlier the better so the conflict hasn’t escalated too rapidly.
Visitors decide whether it will just be a conversation or if the visitor would like it to go beyond a conversation and help the student navigate the bureaucracy.
It is low-risk to come see them. Contact them any way.
