4) On the 5th they need people to help set up
5) Possibility of doing rice drive
6) School buses to bus people to the mall right before finals on Saturday, December 13th
NIKKI:
1) Went to student government meeting
-Approved funding
2) Starting a “Think if You Drink” campaign in the Res Halls
3) Working with Dance Marathon to have a movie night
RYAN “L”:
1) Cabinet has been meeting; every-other Sunday at 6:00
2) Working on updating more of the documents
EMILY:
1) Getting the care package order forms in; as of today, there are about 80 orders
MARK:
1) MACURH this last weekend!
- Met some great schools!
- High note: Display about program, on Casino Night
WE WON!!!!!
As NCC, he attended boardrooms for 10 hours where he reviewed bids from other schools, etc; voted on Residence Staff Member of the year; next MACURH co-advisor; Program of the Year; Student award for leadership training (HALT or HALI-ish)
Took 4 delegates, able to keep Mark sane throughout the weekend
Favorite program:
Nipa: Around the World in 80 Minutes- each floor was a different country; get passport stamped; could win $250 travel voucher
Nichole: Sweet Life of the Opposite Sex- panel would be asked questions that wouldn’t normally have asked their friends
Kyle: Board Room; also attended some programs; Risky Business- act out different situations that have to do with alcohol, etc; discussion with other presidents about going tray-less in their dining halls
KYLE:
1) Half-light program, will be attending a Rienow and Stanley meeting
2) Trying to change up the meeting structure—feedback!! BE HARSH!

BUDGET APPROVAL:
1) Ordinarily would be financial board approval but RA had emergency
-Sandra: Rienow RA request for Winterfest December 6th 2:00-3:30
- Set up at 5:00 Friday; 11:00/noon that day for set up
- Winterfest has been going on for a long time! One of the most fun and best philanthropic event; Holiday party for about 200 Head-Start children (low income, under-privileged children from Iowa City) donation sign up in Res Hall, they can buy a gift, wrap them, and all presents are taken; Santa Claus/Mrs Claus there to play with children, have fun, play games, give door prizes
- Sign up at any front desk!
- Need more money though! For decorations, food, wrapping paper, extra gifts
-Asking for $300 from us

BC:
1) Pregame Party Thursday night from 9-11
- Got approval from financial board
-Hawkeye gear
-Prize giveaways
MAYCO:
1) Planned “Can for a Man/Woman”
-Date auction with cans, bid on a date, catered meal from Olive Garden
2) Thanksgiving event next Wednesday
-Showing “Home for the Holidays”
3) Grocery Bingo in December
4) Mr. MayCo or Mr. Iowa to get toy donations for the holidays
5) MayCO fo shot shirts
ROAR:
1) WallE movie premiere to promote recycling
2) Approved funding for the Head-Start kids
3) Spelling bee
4) ROAR facebook group!
5) Beat Cancer tshirts, there will be some left overs—

HAWQ:
1) Guitar hero tournament in December
2) Jan 24th formal dance
3) Had some team-building at last meeting
4) Moved to have a meeting every week, not just bi-weekly
OSCAR:
1) Dance and yoga classes in Currier, perhaps do it once a week or bi-weekly
2) House meeting, decided to get new movies each week, play some as Movie night to showcase it
3) OSCAR tshirts being made
ASAP:
1) Carved pumpkins which was a lot of fun! But all smashed
2) For Thanksgiving, having a potluck and have a Parklawn Thanksgiving recipe book
3) No recreation at Parklawn, so approved to get a ping-pong table to put in the North lounge; for ASAP members
USA:
1) Just did Fall is Here—success! Pumpkin painting, food, drinks
2) Root beer pong tournament for Slater next Wednesday
3) Week after Thanksgiving, doing a Wobble, Gobble 5K for the West side on possibly Sunday December 7th
- They’ll have food
HA:
1) Pumpkin carving was a big hit!
2) Postponed meeting because of election, meeting tomorrow
3) May put on a program next week
AD:
1) Thursday night Late Night event 9:30-11:30 Currier MPR
- Mocktails, karaoke, Department of Public Safety
2) AD Frickin’ Friday—YouTube contest
3) Volunteer event—knit for the preemie project; having people teach! And watch a movie
4) Planning a ski trip on Feb 21-22nd open to everyone—first come, first serve

6) Assassins game: down to final 11
7) No Shave November on certain floors
8) Event request from ARH? Want to know if we could put sticker on a card, and get discounts for people in Hall Associations (like STAT card)

1) What do we want to do for general hall improvements? ANYTHING
- Half-light program
- Lighting in Carnival room
- The bathrooms are going to be redone
- Music in the showers
- Maybe have triangle in shower to facilitate shaving
- More than just the tiny soap dish—shelf for shampoo
- Furniture in lobbies/lounges
-Love sacs
- Sectional couches
- Can see the dirt on the lounge furniture
- Mayflower is not colorful; improve? Art students paint murals
- More laundry machines
- Old kitchens, put laundry in there? On each floor
- The Slater carpets are old, deteriorating
- Loose floorboards in Quad
- Wifi in laundry room
- Daum’s ceilings are cottage cheese—scrape knuckles
- Beds that are half a foot lower
- Shelves (Quad) and vanities (Burge) get in the way
- Parklawn: in the hallways, laundry room, just see pipes; no ceiling
- Two-toned doors, walls are concrete; kind of like juvie
- University ID vending machines

- Change machine
- Move movies to front desk in Hillcrest
- Chalkboards in lobbies to write/advertise on
